I took off work friday and monday for an extra long weekend.  Thursday night Mark and I went to a Phil Lesh and friends concert then camped out in Hickory Run state park.  Friday we drove up to the Stone Henge festival in Kellysburg.  We saw a couple of cool bands but many were canceled due to the rain.  Even though the event was rain or shine, they were not at all prepared for rain.  Good thing Marks friends had a big easy-up canopy and an enclosed fire pit. Friday and Saturday were quite soggy. Our tent leaks, but Mark fixed it up with tarps.   Sunday we went over to Worlds End state park and hiked the canyon vista trail.  It's very rugged and steep in sections, but also very beautiful.  The gigantic rocks are eerie to walk through. It's like being in a strange and mysterious land.  That night the thunderstorms were as loud as ever.  The crashes of thunder ricochet off the canyon walls.  But I was safe in our tarp covered tent.  In the morning we  drove over to Rickets Glenn state park.  By this point I was feeling very sick. We walked only a short distance before turning back to the car.  Still we got to see Adams fall, a 36 foot waterfall.  Then we went home.  And that night it stormed again.  This time I was snug next to Mark in a warm soft bed with a nice study roof over my head.  A good weekend for sure.
